So with something like this, essentially you're gonna use it if you already have existing wiring on your vehicle, okay, 'cause this is just gonna essentially be a pigtail. It'll be four foot long in length, so that's more than enough. Most scenarios, you know, if you don't need that much, you can bundle it up, cut it short. This style of wiring is a great solution to, you know, not only repair kind of what you already have, but also to help you set up everything new if you're kind of going through your whole trailer. In our case today, we kind of had a mixture of that. So the trailer came in and the lights we're doing weird stuff, the brakes on it we're doing weird stuff and come to find out the existing one already had a repair in it and it wasn't the greatest. Now this part here, will let you create your own cord or replace the damaged ends on your Roadmaster four wire straight and the Roadmaster Flexicoil electrical cords that have this four-way female connector on it. Basically, I wanted to show you how you install your wires in this. What you'll first wanna do is find where that little Phillip screw is right there and then you'll get a little Phillip screwdriver and then you'll just loosen that screw. And then once you get that screw out, you'll see that the whole inside will slide right out. more

Now not all trailer couples and vehicle hitches are the same height so because of this, some vehicles might require extra length on the trailer wiring to plug into the tow vehicle and provide enough slack for your turning radius. This nice flex coil adaptor can stretch up to three feet and it provides that extra reach while ensuring that the wire does not drag on the ground due to the nice flex coil design. Review of CURT Trailer Wiring - 4-Way Flat To 7-Way Socket Adapter - C26DR- Video
Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com, and today, we're gonna take a look at this Curt 4-Way Flat to 7-Way Socket Adapter. This adapter is going to convert the 4-way flat trailer connector on your vehicle to a 7-way socket, and the 4-way flat trailer end is going to plug into the 4-way flat on your vehicle, and the socket plugs into a 7-way RV blade connector, and that connector is sold separately. So this is going to enable the installation of a Curt Echo brake controller on 4-flat vehicles. Now, to install, this is going to be a relatively simple install, you wanna locate your vehicle's 4-way flat harness and attach it to the 7-way harness, and if the harness is in the hatch or in the trunk of your vehicle, you will need to route the 4-way flat to the outside of the vehicle, and this can be done by routing through a grommet in the trunk or hatch area, potentially, under your spare tire. Next, you do want to run a power wire from the battery to the black wire on this harness and splice it together. This black wire is going to get connected to one end of this included bundle of black wire, and using one of the included butt connectors, you're just going to connect these two wires together, and then the other end of this bundle is going to get routed to your vehicle's battery. more

Hopkins Endurance Multi-Tow Trailer Connector Review- Video
Brad here at Etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the Hopkins 7-Way as well as a five flat and four way trailer wiring connection. Now this is a great option to upgrade from your previous seven pole, not only because you can get a nice plug that goes up 180 degrees which this one being at an angle makes it a lot easier to get our plug in whereas our previous one, you can see it doesn't quite open up as much, so you're kind of at a downward angle. It's hard to see if it's actually attached. And this one also has two handles here to make it easy. But the great part too is you're no longer stuck with just a seven pole. You you also have a five flat as well as a four flat down here. more

Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this seven pole blade to five pin delphi connector. This is going to convert a tow vehicle's seven pole wiring connection, to a five pin delphi trailer connection, with the two pin camera connection, so that you can see your camera when you're towing a trailer with a backup camera. So you'll be able to monitor that feed. This does have a grip handle on the seven way plug for an easy connection and disconnection, easily pull it out, gives you plenty of grip there. You can see this does have the coiled cord that's gonna stretch and contract to prevent unnecessary stress on the wires. more

This kit from Hopkins is going to be a universal 7-way replacement package. It's gonna be great for your RVs, or your trucks and vehicles, or even some of your cars and things like that. Now, if you do have a more modern truck or SUV, we have styles here that we sell at etrailer that are OEM replacements that are likely gonna fit better than this Hopkins one is inside of your truck. But, if you've got an RV like this, where it's just gonna have like a bracket here at the back, this is actually a fantastic kit. It comes with your 7-way connector, also comes with a plug harness on the back, and that's why I really like this kit, is because it comes with that harness. A lot of your motorhomes are gonna have a hardwired style on them, where the wires just go right into the back of the 7-way connector, you have to take it apart to get the wires out. more

Now having a seven pole on your vehicle generally means that you can pull some decent size trailers and a lot of your larger ones are gonna have that function. And really that's just to gain your light functions. Your brakes, your running light, and your turn signals. more

Review of CURT Trailer Wiring - Trailer Connectors - C42JR- Video
Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the Curt Replacement 7-way RV Style and 4-way Flat OEM USCAR Trailer Connector. Now, this part here will replace the OEM connector to provide a 4-way and a 7-way trailer wiring connection, and it is designed to fit the USCAR-equipped vehicles with the factory tow plugs only. Now, the 4-way flat output right here will connect your taillights, brake lights, and turn signals, and then the 7-way blade socket will do those three, and also add reverse lights, electric brakes, and auxiliary power. Now, on the caps, they do use nice rubber gaskets that'll help keep the moisture and the elements out when the cap is closed, and they are spring loaded, you can see, so that will keep them closed, keeps the connectors clean when they're not in use, and they also use pre-greased terminals for a nice reliable connection. But that should do it for the review on this Curt Replacement 7-way RV Style and 4-way Flat OEM USCAR Trailer Connector.. more

Hopkins 7-Way RV to 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector Adapter Review HM47340- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the Hopkins 7-way to 4-pole adapter with built-in LED test light. Unlike a traditional adapter, this actually has a built-in LED light that lets you know that your signals are on. So right now we have our running lights on and when we run through our turn signals, these will also illuminate, and that's something that's really nice because right then and there, you can see if your connection is working. So whether you've been towing with the same vehicle with a 7-way and you've picked up a trailer that now has a 4-pole, this is gonna allow you to adapt to it and you're gonna be able to hook up all the same, have all your lights work. Or if you have gone from a 4-pole to a vehicle with a 7-pole, this will also allow you to adapt to that as well. So that way you can make the junction between the two. more

And that's really nice because a lot of vehicles will have the factory seven way on there but maybe not the four pole. Hopkins Endurance Quick-Install Trailer Connector Adapter Review- Video
Hey everybody, how's it going Today we're going to be going over the Hopkins endurance trailer connector adapter. So this particular adapter here, it's going to be designed for trailers with brakes. So a lot of vehicles come from the factory with a four way trailer connector, or you may have added an aftermarket four way trailer connector, which is going to be great for all those small and medium duty trailers. However, when you get into the larger trailers, they're going to have brakes. A lot of actually owner's manuals require the trailer to have brakes over a certain amount. So when you're looking to tow a little bit more, you're going to have to install a seven way trailer connector because that's going to be required for those trailers with brakes. more
